There should be a "date of the release" field when submitting a release

I do not have time to submit it right away, so the date on the site is always a few days too late. Sometimes I even forget a release and then only add it weeks later

Most projects probably use the autoupdate feature, but I do not have any online changelog in English besides the one on freshcode. And the XPath autoupdate does not seem to work with my German xml changelog

The only option to post-publish currently is the long releases.json format.

I believe it's best to publicize things late, than not have them announced. And hiding the release by backdating wouldn't be useful on FCc in general. Hence it was never an option.
I mean, it's very much possible. Just not a common feature, and I'd rather not have another form field for that. (Too convoluted already.)

That being said, the other option is raising a flag. I can backdate releases if need be. Though I'd also prefer if that was used sparignly ;)

The XPath autoupdate may be hamstrung with XML, btw. It's really using a jQuery-esque backend, and thus expecting HTML.

Few project use it, the classic Changelog/News format is more common. But neither supports backdating releases anyway.

Gonna keep this ticket open, though I'm not sure how to introduce a pubdate option elsewise.
